Parliamentary Secretary for Health
Anthony was elected State Member for Ivanhoe in November 2010. Following re-election in 2014 he was appointed Parliamentary Secretary for Water and Parliamentary Secretary for Energy, Environment & Climate Change in the Andrews Government. After the 2018 election Anthony was appointed Parliamentary Secretary for Health and Parliamentary Secretary for Carers & Volunteers.
Prior to entering parliament, Anthony worked at the Victorian School of Languages and was a councillor at the City of Banyule. For almost a decade, he served as an adviser and chief-of-staff to Ministers in the Bracks and Brumby state governments. He began his working life as a journalist at the Geelong Advertiser.
Anthony was born and raised in Melbourne’s northern suburbs and holds a Bachelor of Journalism degree from RMIT University. He and wife Anita live in the Ivanhoe electorate with their daughter, Ava. Anthony is a member of the Geelong Football Club and enjoys running and golf.

Kylee was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Ardoch in August 2016 following diverse roles in the human services sphere in the not-for-profit, government and commercial sectors.
Since 2014 Kylee has served as the World President of the International Association for Volunteer Effort (IAVE), a global membership organisation based in Washington, DC.

Nicole is an experienced advocate with extensive experience in management and strategic leadership in not-for-profit organisations, government, event management, facilitation, and community engagement.

Derek has recently joined the Victorian Men’s Sheds Association as their new Chief Executive Officer.
A sports and management professional with over 20 years’ experience, Derek has worked in both the commercial and not for profit sectors.
Prior to joining the Men’s Shed, Derek has held previous CEO roles in three Olympic sports, two at State level, and one at National level, and was a director of VicSport. He has a strong understanding of the value of volunteers, and the importance of their contribution in both sport and community organisations.
Derek is passionate about inclusion, diversity, and increasing support for all our Victorian volunteers.

Co-founder and Chair, Leaders of Health Volunteer Engagement (LOHVE) Network
Sharon brings extensive volunteer management experience from over 20 years across Bendigo Health and Cabrini Health.
As Chair of the LOHVE Network, Sharon leads the yearly Benchmarking Survey of volunteers in health services and successfully advocated for the inclusion of volunteer management in the 2018 Statement of Priorities for public healthcare services.

Tracey is a social worker and Certified Volunteer Administrator with 19 years’ experience as a leader of volunteer engagement in the not-for-profit, health and government sectors. She has extensive experience in strategic and operational program management and has a keen interest in quality and continuous improvement initiatives.
Tracey is a co-editor of the Voices section of the international online journal ‘Engage; the global voice of leaders of volunteer engagement.’ She is also a recipient of a 2020 Association of Leaders in Volunteer Engagement (Al!ve) Exemplary Leader Impact Award.

Amy is an experienced innovator, with a long history of working in the training and coaching industry.
She founded the Good Karma Network, which is composed of suburb-specific online communities where members support each other through volunteerism. The model has spread in three states and captured the attention of academics and thought leaders.

SelbaGondoza is a Mental Health Clinician, Public Speaker, Family Violence advocate and Grassroot Community Leader.
She is also the Founder and CEO of Afri-Aus Care Inc, a Not-For-Profit Organisation, which provides Culturally Appropriate support services to African Australians and those from other CALD backgrounds.
She is also the Co-Founder of the successful Black Rhinos Basketball Club, a Crime Prevention and Intervention Program for at-risk youth, she has recently Co-Founded a Youth program called the Ubuntu Peer-Peer Restorative Family.
She relates very well that there is a connection between mental illness and the connection of young people who are in the Justice system. She has extensive experience working with African Australian families who are facing resettlement challenges.
Over the years, she has managed to connect with key stakeholders, e.g. Government Bodies, major organisations like ADRA Australia, African Community/Church Leaders, The University of Melbourne, Monash University, Swinburne University, Victoria University a number of Rotary Clubs in Rotary District 9800, etc. She is a Multiple Ward Winner and a Charter Member of Rotary Passport Club of Melbourne.
She has been working as a Task Force Member in a number of Key Government Departments. She believes in The Ubuntu Philosophy and she uses The Positive Change Model when working with at-risk youth and their families. Based on the outcomes of the Crime prevention programs she runs at Afri-Aus Care, The University of Melbourne has now published an article in relation to The Practice of Ubuntu in the justice system. Khayshie is a passionate advocate for youth, multiculturalism and diverse representation at influential decision-making tables. She is an experienced director, legal advisor and the Multicultural Youth Commissioner of Victoria with an honours degree in law and accreditation in mediation.
Khayshie has served on a number of boards and committees including Loddon Campaspe Multicultural Services, ARCJustice, Ambulance Victoria Community Advisory Committee, City of Greater Bendigo Economic Strategy Steering Committee and YWCA Australia.
Khayshie served as the Inaugural City of Greater Bendigo Youth Mayor and was instrumental in forming the first Youth Council in 2019. Khayshie has been named in the top 100 future leaders of Australia, Young Citizen of the Year 2017, Premier’s Volunteer Leadership Champion 2019, Law Student of the Year 2019 and has represented Australia at the Young Humanitarian United Nations Conference in Thailand in 2018.
Khayshie specialises in utilising user-centred design and collaborative practice to foster empathetic solutions using lived experience. Khayshie is a keen continual learner with a wide network who yearns to work across multiple disciplines to create holistic programs which champion equity and uplift marginalised cohorts.

Debra is the Deputy Emergency Management Commissioner for the State of Victoria. Prior to joining Emergency Management Victoria (EMV), Debra had an extensive and diverse career with Victoria Police. Debra’s police career saw her serve across many areas of the force and in significant leadership roles within Operational, Support and Corporate Commands.
At EMV Debra is responsible for the Capability and Risk Directorate. Notable reform includes the introduction of an emergency strategic Intelligence capability and emergency management leadership during the 2019-20 Eastern Victorian Bushfires and COVID 19.

Hang has over 20 years’ experience in the not-for-profit sector leading complex national and international programs. This includes leadership roles at the Australian Red Cross and EACH Social and Community Health. She served a six-year term as Vice-President of ACOSS.
Her qualifications include Executive MBA, degrees in Social Work and Arts; and Graduate of Australian Institute of Company Directors. Hang came to Australia in the late 1970s with her family as Vietnamese refugees and is a member of the LGBTIQ community.

Sue Woodward is Head of Justice Connect’s specialist Not-for-profit Law service. She is a board member of VCOSS and the Human Rights Law Centre.
Sue has worked on policy and laws reform issues of importance to the Victorian and Australian not-for-profit sector for more than 15 years, including on many issues affecting volunteers. From 2012-2015 she was the inaugural Director, Policy & Education at the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission. She is a qualified lawyer and a former academic at the Melbourne Law School.

Viv has over 30 years’ experience in health, early years, child and family, and community services, with 25 of these in executive management.
Viv has led organisations with integrated paid and volunteer workforces for 20 years and brings significant expertise in the delivery of community services through these workforces.
Viv brings strong outcomes measurement expertise and has worked to introduce outcomes-based strategy in a range of health and human services in Victoria. Viv specialises in supporting small to medium organisations with their governance to ensure a diverse community sector.
Chief Executive Officer, Albury Wodonga Volunteer Resource Centre
Jemma Toohey’s career has extended over 34 years in volunteer co- ordination and management with services including the Australian Red Cross, City of Wodonga, Community Visitors Scheme and Lutheran Aged Care. Many of these roles have involved initiating new services, updating documentation and living the experience of working with volunteers and supporting them to best practice.
This culmination of years of experience of Jemma and her team lead to the creation of the Way2Go Toolkit for Volunteer Managers. The toolkit is of value to any organisation that has volunteers as part of the team-for setting up a new program, to auditing and updating current programs and to date over 2000 organisation across Australia have used and implemented the protocols and procedures inherent within the kit.
In her current role as CEO of AWVRB she has received grants to support the extension and innovation of multiple projects that remain sustainable in Albury Wodonga. The past 3 years in particular Jemma has been heavily involved with the National Network of Volunteer Resource Centers.
Her passion and support has been an underlying force in the Re-imaging volunteering research. She believes that our rural and regional communities have enormous capacity to move and lead change and is proud to be associated with this research that puts a local lens on our volunteering, participatory action and social cohesion.

Thu-Trang is the Chief Executive Officer of Volunteer West.Thu-Trang brings extensive cross-sector experience in public, private and non-government organisations.
She is passionate about creating value and impact in everything she does and brings extensive expertise in inclusive and collaborative practice to her work.
